Radiographs allow us to see things that we cannot see with the naked eye. Radiographs also allow us to detect cavities in between the teeth, determine bone level and assist with analyzing the health of your jaw bone. We are also able to examine the root of the tooth including the nerves, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors and assess damage when dental trauma has occurred. Additionally, with digital X-rays, less radiation is needed to produce high-quality images.
Panoramic or “full face” X-rays allow us to screen for pathology. This technology is also utilized for wisdom teeth impaction, to diagnose TMJ and evaluate sinuses and nerves prior to dental treatments.
